TOUCH N TASTE Restaurant and Lounge

Image
Touch n Taste is located at 8 West Boundary Street, California, Couva. It features a  modern chic dining experience located in the hub of the Energy Capital (Point Lisas) of Trinidad and Tobago. Touch n Taste offers an international menu with leanings toward modern American and Cantonese cuisine. Their  bar experience is characterized by both cutting edge mixology and classic cocktails. Their  lunch and  dinner menu  are out of this world, for those of you who love to try new dishes, this is the place to be. There are four levels which include dining, banquet hall, maldives lounge and table 6 sky lounge.  T he above picture is the maldives lounge, I had whisky and coconut water drink (I am not the cocktail and shots type of guy). The ambiance is uniquely brilliant, no other sports bar compete with Touch n Taste on this category (design and architecture), this is a family oriented atmosphere. I saw some cocktails the waiter was delivering to other patrons and the presen

CHAQUACABANA BEACH RESORT

Image
Chaquacabana beach resort is located at LP165, Western Main Road, Diego Martin (More accurately, drive to tip of chaguaramas before the army base on the left side). It is a beach resort, in which you have to be a member to enter but I told them we were having drinks by the bar area ONLY. This is absolutely not a sports bar with not ONE television by the bar. But I can guarantee the view is beyond words at this bar. The bar area was small with seating for about 10 guests but AGAIN THE VIEW .   As you can see that is the view from inside the bar area when looking outwards. On the deck there are chairs, tables and umbrellas along with the kitchen area. All the yatchs, fisher folks, ships and cruises were in full view. Clouds soon came and became gloomy but in an hour all cleared and the sun came out in full radiance. Music was electronic dance music (more geared towards an international vibe rather than local), but we requested some spanish music and they changed it (we were t

KASH HIGHWAY BAR (Economy)

Image
Kash Highway Bar is located in El Socorro , San Juan on the Beetham Highway on Boundary Road extension. You can enter from Boundary Road extension or the back (by MET wholesale). Decent sports bar if you want a cold drink and listen some good music. Regular cutters include fries and wings. Kash has a banging after work lime especially on Fridays, vehicles line the road both at the front entrance and back, so if you want good parking you have to come early. Seating is average (who cares about seating when drinks is priority). The bar area is small with limited seats so early birds will have an advantage. There is a outside patio, where I feel some what relaxed watching the bustling and hustling of vehicles on the highway. This bar isn't necessarily for sports watching but rather sports talking and hardcore liming fortunately made it on my list for its proximity (easy access from the highway to drink beastly cold beer/s). During my visit, police frequented here to purc

HUTT SHUTTS

Image
HUTT SHUTTS Sports bar is located on Balgobin Street in Tacarigua. The guys were doing some renovations but typically outside has seating with large umbrellas. Its looks like a castle from the 15th century on the outside (medieval kinda thing). This is an all out local sports bar, featuring local cuisine, some main courses include curry/stew chicken, BBQ chicken, calalloo and macaroni pie. Cutters include: shark bites, wings, shrimp, fries and corn soup. I had the corn soup and shrimp, no complaints. The inside is gargantuan, with countless television screens (each screen having a different sports channel) seating inside was more than enough, inside was reminiscent of a club with stage and lighting which I liked.  The drinks included both local and international beers (not extensive). This is the most beautiful sight I saw that day when I visited.      You cannot go wrong with 3 Stag/Carib / 4 Presidente beers / 3 Pilsner for $20 and 6 Coors Light for $60.   The b

TROTTERS

Image
Trotters (Trinidad and Tobago) is located in Port of Spain @ the corner of Sweet Briar and Maraval Road, St Clair. The name Trotters originated from the old local term 'to trot' and 'to chip' which 'chipping' was used in the early 1900's to chip down the road. Upon entering, I immediately saw newspaper articles and memorabilia of local and Caribbean history (which was highly commendable). Their menu mixed international style with slightly local touches. I had the jerk chicken platter which included succulent grilled chicken breast with jerk marinade served with black beans, rice and sweet fried plantain. Alot of different appetizers and main courses to try.  The waiter was very accommodative and patient as we had told him to recheck us about three times (I am sure any other waiter would get frustrated), but he was cool.  The bar area was very well positioned at the center as you can see,  so getting a view of one of the many television screens was

BOOT LEGGERS

Image
Bootleggers is located in block F (the south eastern side) outside the entrance of Pennywise in Trincity Mall. Approaching Bootleggers the patron will notice an outside deck: for those who like open air, borderless rooms (not forgetting the avid smokers). Upon entering, the interior is huge with the second floor overlooking the main area. Texan and Mexican cuisine is featured. We had the platter which included spiced wedges, calamari, coconut shrimp, chicken wanton and chicken strips. Everything was delicious besides the chicken wanton and coconut shrimp (it was bland).  The bar area is bright yellow with more than sufficient seating accommodation. Overall ambiance (music, televsion screens, restaurant design) is well done.  I had the flu, thus the fruit punch on the table (best fruit punch I ever had). Hookahs are also available with flavors such as melon, kiwi, mojito and blueberry with mint...etc.. from 5pm to close: $160. Happy hours is from 5pm- 7pm everyday : 2

JZZ'S International Steak House

Image
JZZ's is a locally owned sports bar and restaurant in the Couva area, precisely on the corner of Gibbs Street and Southern Main Road Point Lisas. Beautiful architecture and landscaping cannot be missed by patrons or the public. This sports bar has a western inspired cuisine, the majority being American. The seasoned steak fries and wings I ordered were very flavorful especially the steak fries. I should have ordered the Spicy wings, these wings were the honey bar-b-que which were sweet. In addition to these they had a variety of appetizers to munch on (I was too full to order anything else). The pepper sauce was very tasty (not soo much heat though). Other appetizers included crab back, platter 1 etc... The platter 1 is a very popular appetizer assortment witch include jalapeno poppers, calamari rings, chicken fingers and buffalo wings, this is great for a group of friends.  The bar area was very modern and sleek.  You all may be wondering why the bar i
