TROTTERS
Trotters (Trinidad and Tobago) is located in Port of Spain @ the corner of Sweet Briar and Maraval Road, St Clair. The name Trotters originated from the old local term 'to trot' and 'to chip' which 'chipping' was used in the early 1900's to chip down the road. Upon entering, I immediately saw newspaper articles and memorabilia of local and Caribbean history (which was highly commendable). Their menu mixed international style with slightly local touches. I had the jerk chicken platter which included succulent grilled chicken breast with jerk marinade served with black beans, rice and sweet fried plantain. Alot of different appetizers and main courses to try. The waiter was very accommodative and patient as we had told him to recheck us about three times (I am sure any other waiter would get frustrated), but he was cool.
The bar area was very well positioned at the center as you can see, so getting a view of one of the many television screens was not a break neck situation.
This was a Tuesday night, hence the crowd (LOL). Their Mezzanine (definition: low storey between two other in a building, typically between the ground and first floors), offers groups of patrons between 25-85 people a private place of entertainment which has a full service bar and state of the art audio/video functionality. This is great for corporate lunches, meetings, parties and general assemblies. They also have the country's largest selection of imported beers and spirits, so this is definitely beer lover's paradise. I think they are the only sports bar that accept Bitcoins, haven't seen this in any other sport bar in Trinidad and Tobago as yet, those of you who are short of cash or in the mining bitcoin business this is for you.
Opening hours are Everyday from 11.30AM to 10PM and closed on Public Holidays.
